Rudolf Cymorr Kirby Martinez is a nursologist, a caring science scholar, and a nurse theorist. He is the author of the “Nursing Situation as Caring Moment: a Filipino Value-based Theory of Nursing”.  He finished his BS in Nursing from University of Santo Tomas College of Nursing , his MA in Nursing major in Clinical Nursing with a focus on Pediatric Nursing from Trinity University of Asia, and his PhD in Applied Cosmic Anthropology from Asian Social Institute. His two areas of expertise are nursing pedagogy and human caring practice advocacy. His scholarship underscores the decolonization of nursing education and promoting caring-based, person-centered nursing practice.  He led in the development of his University’s BSN curriculum grounded in nursing science and caring sciences, where traditional, folkloric, and indigenous health-healing practices are integrated, and palliative care is championed. By practice, I am also a certified acupuncturist, a licensed clinical massage therapist, a somatic therapy practitioner, and a traditional healer. Dr. Martinez is currently a full professor from San Beda University College of Nursing and serves as Chairperson of the Department of Nursing Education of Philippine Nurses Association.
