| Ellen Schultz is Professor Emerita and Nursing Community Faculty at Metropolitan State University St. Paul, MN. Her professional career has been grounded in holistic nursing. Her early career focused on client care in mental health and chemical dependency.
Her forty-five years of teaching, as well as publications, and presentations have centered on holistic-nursing, theory-based-practice, holistic mandala, energy-based interventions, and holistic health. The foundation of her theory-based teaching and practice is Modeling and Role-Modeling (MRM) theory. With faculty colleagues, she developed an RN-BSN curriculum based on MRM theory. Application of this theory goes beyond nursing care to topics such as teaching/learning, student advisement, and civility in nursing. Although retired, she continues to teach nursing theory to graduate students, motivated by the opportunity to watch students grow as holistic practitioners as they apply MRM theory. Her leadership in holistic nursing is demonstrated through board positions in the Minnesota Holistic Nurses Association, The Society for the Advancement of Modeling and Role-Modeling, American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation, and the Global Academy of Holistic Nursing. Knowing that “everything is energy,” personal study and practice have been centered in energy-based interventions including Healing Touch, Feng Shui, labyrinth facilitation, Power of Eight intentions, and spiritual intuition. |
